Friendship

Hello
once upon a day I came across this gorgeous paper from Ivytree Studio and I just had to get some and scrap up a storm.  The package duly arrived and I decided to create an idea I been mulling over to blend one LO page with a Project Life page.
Package arrived
I have been out of it a while so it has taken me an age to scrap this page coz I ummed and aahed and second guessed myself constantly.

This is how I started

Next step was making flowers

and this is what was finally created

I have not put a picture on yet coz I want one with a very special friend whom I don't get to see very often, so I am prepared to wait.

Pop on over to Ivytree Studio, I know they have launched a simply gorgeous new range with a floral zebra nogal!!

until next time
keep creating

#Christmaschallenge Day 2 - Gift box

I am cheating a little today coz this box is actually for thank you cards going to a bride - so not in essence a Christmas gift, but you can turn it into a gift.  They are ideal for all these layered cards or make a stack of gift tags to add to the box.  Add a small chocolate and there you go.

I made Snapguide tutorial on how to make the gift box so go here.

I hope I am inspiring you to dig into your stash and make something.  Giving a gift beautifully wrapped makes the receiver feel very special and cared for.  Go on, make something, I dare you!

till next time
keep creating
take care

#christmaschallenge - Day 1

Ja ja, I have been gone for a while, had a strange topsy-turvy year....long story but the result is this Christmas is on an eXtreme budget and with only 22 days to go I need to start crafting gifts.
I very rarely take the time to make something special or pretty for myself and today while I was in my studio working on my day job stuff, I heard my sad and lonely crafts just calling out to me.  This is the result, a pretty notebook for me - made with just stuff that is in the studio. So, I will be making a few more of these and coming up with some others.
That is my challenge this Christmas.  Hand-crafting pressies using just my stash

A notebook, some wrapping paper and embellishments
= a pretty notebook for a friend, or a stocking filler

I made a quick SnapGuide tutorial, so go check it out here

'til next time
keep being creative

Torn flowers tutorial

I have struggled to get into the Christmas Spirit this year for the simple reason I can't wrap my head around the fact that though I will be with my sister and her family, my DH and DS,(I have to add we will be on a secluded beach on the Mozambique coast!!) I will not be with my daughter and my Dad.  Now this is the first Christmas in my daughter's life that she is away from home, and I suppose this is a strong sign that she is not my little girl any more.  The other reason is the whirlwind setting up of the shop
which was the most amazing adventure and continues to grow every day but has left me breathless and without much time to think of other things.  The store is decked out in holiday loveliness but my home sadly neglected.  Even my almost 16 year old has said it is not quite the same.

I have been scrapping amongst all the craziness and this LO is inspired by the work of Gabrielle Pollacco
Her Blog is called "Such a pretty mess" and I find her work awe-inspiring.

Here is the link to the page that inspired my torn flowers
page

As you can see I have not added the second photos, will do ... some day soon

Christmas is in the air

This LO was done for this week's sketch over at Let's Scrap.  The photos are from last Christmas at my sister's house.  This was the first Christmas we had, apart in over a decadeThe Christmas tree was done origami style.  The poinsettia's are scrunched cardstock.
these are a few of the cards made during a workshop I taught

hope your life is more organised than mine.  I leave for Mozambique in a week's time and not bought any Christmas presents.
