#Christmaschallenge Day 6

Finding gifts for the men in our family is always difficult and whilst  chatting to my sister and asking what her hubby needs, she gave me a awesome idea.  She asked for something where all the TV remotes and the odd magazine could be stashed. I have a pile of decorating swatches that I have collected and pulled them out - did some creative matching and this is what I came up with..

#Christmaschallenge - Day 3 Scrubbie

So today was spent prepping and planning 2 of my Christmas pressies and then we went out to a friends for a braai. So because I am committed to this challenge I had to complete something today!  I decided to crochet one of these cotton scrubbies while I was out.

To Make :
1 ball of cotton thread (I used Moya)
make a chain with 35 stitches
crochet 22 rows
end with a chain of 13 stitches and slip stitch in base of chain to make a loop.

I will add a pretty bar of soap and/or some pamper goodies and make up a hamper - more on that later

'til we chat again
scratch through that stash and show me what you are making
Have a great Weekend
take care

#Christmaschallenge Day 2 - Gift box

I am cheating a little today coz this box is actually for thank you cards going to a bride - so not in essence a Christmas gift, but you can turn it into a gift.  They are ideal for all these layered cards or make a stack of gift tags to add to the box.  Add a small chocolate and there you go.

I made Snapguide tutorial on how to make the gift box so go here.

I hope I am inspiring you to dig into your stash and make something.  Giving a gift beautifully wrapped makes the receiver feel very special and cared for.  Go on, make something, I dare you!

till next time
keep creating
take care

#christmaschallenge - Day 1

Ja ja, I have been gone for a while, had a strange topsy-turvy year....long story but the result is this Christmas is on an eXtreme budget and with only 22 days to go I need to start crafting gifts.
I very rarely take the time to make something special or pretty for myself and today while I was in my studio working on my day job stuff, I heard my sad and lonely crafts just calling out to me.  This is the result, a pretty notebook for me - made with just stuff that is in the studio. So, I will be making a few more of these and coming up with some others.
That is my challenge this Christmas.  Hand-crafting pressies using just my stash

A notebook, some wrapping paper and embellishments
= a pretty notebook for a friend, or a stocking filler

I made a quick SnapGuide tutorial, so go check it out here

'til next time
keep being creative
