Digistamps4Joy - Challenge #148

wonderful
ˈwʌndəfʊl,ˈwʌndəf(ə)l/
adjective
  1. inspiring delight, pleasure, or admiration; extremely good; marvellous.
    "they all think she's wonderful"

Hey there,
my word for the year is wonderful and I am so, living up to my choice of word.
Maybe it is a state of mind but usually round this time of the year I fall into one of my dark pits, caused by Mothers's Day and the passing of my wonderful mum a week later.
But this year there is something different in my spirit.  I don't have that deep sense of grief but a sort of peace.  I had been holding onto the grief and have finally let it go.
This card is dedicated to my mum who has her wings. I know she watches over me and I hope I am the woman she would have wanted me to be..

The Digi I used is called heart wings and the sentiment I used is called Mom wings. Quite pertinant, I think!

The image was cut on my Silhouette and I re-assembled it with some layers. I tucked yellow roses and arum lilies in as these were her favourite flowers.  This is how the page started .......

....... but then it sort of morphed into this and will be part of a larger canvas, which I will share on another occasion.

For those who still have mums, treasure them.
For those who are mums, nuture the memories

Challenge #145 I Love You | DigiStamps4Joy

Isn't February wonderful, it's the month of love and
also the month I celebrate my wedding anniversary.
For  Challenge #145 I used a new release in the
DS4J store by Jen Leefleng.

I used my Silhouette to trace the image.  I used Aquarelle pencils
to colour the image (still learning - haven't got it right yet!),
cut out the frame and layered it with coloured cardstock and used
the Cuttlebug to emboss the white cardstock.

chat soon and remember to keep creating...
take care

Digi-stamps

hi all
Image result for creativity quotes

To say that the past few months have passed in a flash and a blur seems such an excuse but its so true.

I have been lucky enough to be creating lots of different beauties across a variety of crafts

My DT projects for Digi-Stamps4joy continue to stretch and inspire my creativity.

My favourite by far is this christmas bauble that I created from this giraffe digi-stamp
for Challenge #143 ATG + Holidays
I used my Silhouette to cut the image from vinyl and adhered the giraffe to a clear bubble.

This mechanobug for Challenge #142 below was coloured with greys and silvers with some enamel dots for detail

I used the teapot cottage to create this pretty Happy Birthday card.

I used my Silhouette to draw and cut this hydrangea bouquet.  I stencilled the background with embossing paste and coloured with some sprays.

These digi-stamps are all available at Digistamps4joy online store.

'til next time

DigiStamp4Joy - big news

Life has thrown me some strange curve balls these past few months.  But as they say, change is inevitable and we must move forward so this I am doing and my August started with a big bang.  I was invited to join the team at DigiStamps4Joy!! I was very surprised and am honoured to join this team.  I am not a huge card maker and stamping frustrates the heck out of me as I always make a huge mess....but Digi stamps are perfect for me.  No mess, no fuss.

Coz, I am not so clever yet with colouring in, I decided to make a card using paper piecing.  I downloaded the lovebirds, and started playing.
The theme for August is Anything goes with a touch of summer and I used some of my favourite scraps.  The one range is Lemonade from Bo-bunny (wish I had bought a ton of it) and the other range is from Kaiser Kraft.  I made a little video for you on the details I put on the card.

I also made a quick envelope from standard bond paper and decorated it using a doily as a stencil.

until next time

Hello there

We are chasing Rainbows this July and the blog hop starts on 10 July  and will close on 20 July. That’s TEN full days of catching rainbows across our blogs!
Each lady will design and showcase their card along with a quick tutorial on the making of their masterpiece. Some blogs will offer a surprise crafty gift too! This blog hop is going to be full of surprises and oh so much fun!

Here’s what you need to do, visit all blogs, click follow and leave a comment then go back to Sharen's blog and tell her what you loved about each blog and you could win load of craft treats!
Since this is not a sponsored Blog Hop,  the ladies will be using products from a range of suppliers, join in the fun and learn new techniques while making new friends!

I am number 8 on the hop and you should have arrived here via Valerie, if you haven't, then, please go back to The Girl with the Tape Runner to get to the start of the blog hop.

I am still battling with a broken wrist so rustled up a very quick card using the Bo Bunny
Lemonade Stand range.  This is a tri-fold card with a bit of a twist.

How I made this card -
Cut Double sided card stock cut 20cm x 30cm
Mark and score at 10 and 20 cm
Fold the card stock over.
Decorate with Butterflies and add a journal card

Now pop on over to Marie Smith and complete the blog hop
Please leave me a comment and one lucky lady will receive a loaded Pocket letter from me.

'til next time
have a craftylicious week

Pretty Boxes | Ivytree Studio
‘all the flowers of tomorrow are the seeds of yesterday and today’

I am visiting my Dad and his wife this week-end and she is from a gracious age where notes are still written by hand. I decided to make her a few cute cards & tags and put them into a pretty box. I used Ivytree Studio sheet #163/8 to make the boxes and used a box template I had downloaded from the Silhouette Store.

The boxes are about 7,5cm x 7,5cm big and a bit smaller than I envisaged so the cards & tags turned into mini ones!
So the above box looks ok but not really pretty enough for my liking, so I took it one step further and added some quills and a guinea fowl feather.  I actually went a bit crazy with the feathers today!!

I am not a great fan of orange but really, really enjoyed working with this shade (#171/21) from the Seize the Day collection, and of course I couldn't resist making a flower.  I cut a few scalloped circles (ok …I cheated, my Silhouette cut them), cut into the circles, to create multiple petals, curled the petals and created a sort of ‘everlasting’ flower.

Then, just because I can, I created a totally over the top, box topper with pink feathers and the flower die-cuts from the Wild & Free collection (#163/10).  I used dimensional glaze on the edges of the petals and sprinkled with glitter to add some extra sparkle.

I created 3 little cards (7cm x 7cm) and decorated them with elements from the Cute Cuts sheet (#163/15).

The tags are 7cm squares and again I decorated with the Cute Cuts.

The absolutely great thing about Ivytree Studio paper is that the range is so versatile and user friendly and they
mix and match so beautifully.

Here is a little tip:- I used my zigzag scissors to cut around these flowers to save some fussy cutting time, after chalking it looks great. See the result on the tag above.

The papers I used for this project:
#171/15
#171/21
#163/08
#163/10
#163/14
#163/16
additional supplies used:
  • dimensional glaze
  • Distress glitter
  • ribbon
  • white card stock
  • chalks
  • Tombow
  • feathers
